Jennifer and Mathieu were married on a Wednesday morning at the Washington Park gazebo in Springfield, Illinois. I've known Jennifer since high school, but it had been years since we'd seen each other. It was wonderful to reconnect over her wedding music!
With the heat wave we've been experiencing this summer, they wisely opted for a morning ceremony. At 10:00 am, when the ceremony began, it was comfortable. An hour later, temperatures were nearing 100 degrees. Everyone looked better for the pictures than they would have if they had planned an afternoon wedding!
The bride's son and daughter served as the ring bearer and flower girl, and were the only members of the wedding party. They entered to the same song as the bridal processional: "Down by the Salley Gardens." At the conclusion of the ceremony, everyone exited to "King William's March."
Even with a small and intimate wedding, you can add a little glamour and elegance by having harp music accompany your ceremony! For more information, visit my website: Central Illinois Wedding Music.

Wedding Harpist in Springfield ~ Ceremony in Washington Park
Michelle and Zach chose to have their wedding ceremony at Washington Park in Springfield, Illinois. With the scorching hot temperatures, the couple was able to keep their guests comfortable by having the ceremony inside the botanical gardens, while having the benefit of some great photo shots by using the scenery outside.
The couple picked a good mix of traditional and popular music for the ceremony. The song for the parents' and grandparents' entrance went classical and traditional with "Canon in D," while the entrance of the groomsmen and the groom was more a more popular selection, "Fields of Gold."
The bridesmaids walked down the aisle accompanied by Bach's "Prelude in C." Michelle and her father entered the ceremony to the traditional "Bridal Chorus" (also known as "Here Comes the Bride"). During the ceremony, the couple lit their unity candle to "Only Time" by Enya. The bride and groom walked down the aisle together to the very modern and very popular "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz.

Central Illinois Harp & Violin ~ Civil Union in Springfield's Washington Park
Kelly & Joyce celebrated their civil union at the gazebo in Washington Park, Springfield, Illinois. The harp & violin duet they chose for their wedding music was the perfect complement to the beautiful location! It had rained heavily the morning of June 24th, but the afternoon was clear and dry, so the ceremony was able to go ahead outdoors as planned.
"Canon in D" by Pachelbel was the final piece of the prelude, and signaled that the ceremony was about to begin. The wedding party, Joyce, and Kelly all entered to "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" by Bach. To give them a few minutes of reflection during the service, we played a duet version of Malotte's "The Lord's Prayer." The ladies had seats saved for them in the front row, so they were able to spend a few moments relaxing and enjoying the music! "Trumpet Voluntary" was the recessional.
